I am going to build a limited amount of production motorcycles that are inspiring… connecting…. and most of all will never fail to give you a reason to ride… I have spent most of my 2 wheel career mating ass to seat. I make sure the rider will actually enjoy their bike not have the honor of paying for upkeep…   I have listened to thousand of stories, altered hundreds of motorcycles, and have completed some some special builds in that time…

There will always be motorcycles that are more powerful or have been successfully campaigned on the race circuits, and ridden by the best in the world. These bikes were never intended for us to ride them… but to win races and sell more motorcycles…  These are the very bikes we covet as they are the best efforts put forth by our brands… but rarely will we understand their potential…. where is the fun as the electronic systems come come on to limit the amount of torque that the bike is wanting to put out… all so we can be better riders… as engineers are very capable of building power that will out perform our abilities with ease… and as these bikes get larger and faster.. they quickly leave behind the rewarding ride in the name of statistics for the sales floor. I dare you to ride a 600cc bike as hard as Miguel Duhamel did on his off days…

We ride to work, or take off for an hour and head out to our favorite route just push out chicken strips out to a respectable amount of wear.  We head out and ride with some friends for lunch, and squeeze in the occasional track day, and we get caught in the rain… this is the real world… what if these moments were the ones that our motorcycles was geared for… so that there was enough motor that we could scare ourselves enough to be reminded of our mortality with out right threatening it… these are not the ones that will have you go out to the garage and know that you are going to be putting the lid on today and never even consider getting in the cage.. your not alone in thinking that manufactures look at street riders as a second rate segment of riders with boring motors, and second rate components aimed at lowering the cost of entry into the brand so that your next bike will be the profit making race bikes… a motorcycle should be able to take a pothole and a track day.

Motorcycle companies are driven by accountants and marketing departments… they have forgotten why we ride…

If there is only one reason not to ride your bike… you will  not ride it… if its not comfortable… or the brakes squeak, or the motor is strong but there is no connection to it… you will leave that bike there to sit and the tires will expire by time, not by miles or abuse…

My concept is not easy to quantify…  I do have design goals, a target motor characteristic, handling desires, braking needs, ergonomic concerns.  I have specs that will aid in achieving my goals… but the results are all that matters… I always will keep my eye on the prize and will produce a motorcycle that is a daily joy to ride. – Ian Halcott
